Basically a Fruit Cocktail Jelly Recipe with the added creaminess from condensed milk and evaporated milk. A great way to cool down for the summer heat as well a colorful addition to any party. This vibrant looking treat will surely brighten anyone’s day.
This creamy fruity jelly recipe is made by separating the fruit and syrup from the fruit cocktail can. Then placing the fruits in your choice of mold or container. Make sure to keep a cup of the syrup to be added into the creamy jelly base, it also adds sweetness and helps make sure the flavors are cohesive. Place the syrup in a pot of water and some gelatin powder, mixing till most of the powder is dissolved. Then place the pot in a stove at medium heat, bring this into a soft boil, mixing often before pouring in condensed milk which adds that nice sweetness and will help the base thicken or stabilize better, with some all purpose cream for that milky base-taste. Stir well till you get a nice smooth mixture. Give this a taste and add sugar if you’d like. Pour the mixture into the molds and let this cool to almost room temperature before covering and placing these in the fridge to chill for at least 4 hours or more. Take these out, flip with a serving plate and enjoy!
Alternatives ?
Want to make this Fruity Jelly Dessert Recipe but don’t have some of the ingredients? Try these:
- No condensed milk? Mix evaporated milk with ⅓ – 1 cup of sugar. Adding ⅓ cup at a time to be able to properly fix how much sugar you add into the jelly dessert. You can also add the sugar after all the ingredients have been simmered together. Tasting and adding some a bit at a time.
- No All purpose cream? You can use any other cream like half and half, coconut cream, or a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of butter and milk. Though do note that if you are using half and half this might already have sweeteners in it. Using coconut cream, depending on the brand, might have a strong coconut taste. If you want a really quick substitute, use full cream milk.
- Gelatin substitute? Use unflavored clear gulaman or unflavored agar agar powder. Using gulaman or agar agar also helps quicken up chill time. These stabilize faster.
- Prefer it Dairy free? Use nut milks like almond, cashew, hazelnuts for an added nutty flavor. Use soy or oat for slightly less flavored milk. You can also use coconut based products instead.
- Use other fruits. You can substitute the fruits with any canned fruits. Just make sure to strain them. Use fruits that do not have much liquids in these or make sure to strain the fruits well to avoid a very watery jelly dessert.
