Polvoron is a type of short-bread usually made of toasted flour, powdered milk, butter and sugar. In some parts of the world, Polvoron is considered as delicacy prepared for special occasions and holiday. In Philippines, we usually buy and eat it as snack or dessert.

Filipino polvoron has different variations depending on the flavors and ingredients you put on it. One of the most popular flavor of polvoron is that one with Pinipig. Some may even put nuts and dried fruits on it. But over the year, people have discovered more flavors like chocolate and cookies & cream.

How to Make Polvoron



1. Toast the all purpose flour in a pan in low heat until lightly brown. (around 15 minutes). After toasting, let it cool completely.

2, Once cooled down, add the powdered milk, sugar and melted butter. Mix well until you achieve sand-like texture.

3. Mold the polvoron using a molder. Then, chill for at least 30 minutes before wrapping (to hold its shape while wrapping).
