Creamy Shrimp with Salted Egg

This Creamy Shrimp with Salted Egg dish is absolutely delicious and easy to make. Just prepare the cleaned shrimps, saute the shrimps a bit before coating these in a delectable spicy and savory sauce made of butter, garlic, salted eggs, coconut milk, chillies, paprika, pepper, and sugar. Then it’s ready to be served as is, over rice, or even over noodles as a ‘pasta sauce’.

Creamy Shrimp with Salted Egg Recipe :

Ingredients

  • 500 grams shrimp
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 6 cloves garlic ( minced )
  • 3 pieces salted eggs ( mashed with or without the egg whites )
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • Chilies ( for spice )
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Oil for sauteing

Steps:

  1. Prepare the shrimps; cut and remove the whiskers and legs. Devein using a toothpick, then give these a wash. On a pan, heat some oil and add in the shrimps. Cook until it turns orange. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan at low heat; melt butter and saute garlic until aromatic. Mix in salted eggs, cook and mash these more. Pour in coconut milk and mix until creamy and thick.
  3. Add in the chillies, paprika, pepper, and sugar. Mix and cook for a few minutes until the sauce looks a bit more orange.Toss in the  sautéed shrimps and mix until these are well coated.
  4. Serve and enjoy !

Why is the Salted Egg flavor so popular ?

But first, what exactly are salted eggs? Salted eggs are salt-preserved duck or chicken eggs using the brining method. Depending on where you are, the eggs are soaked in a salt brine, packed with rock salt, or layered and covered with salted charcoal paste. How to cook this Creamy Shrimp with Salted Egg dish?

To make this creamily delicious dish. All you need is to first remove the shrimps of its legs and whiskers, deveining with a toothpick then giving it a good wash before placing it in a pan to cook until it changes in color-turns orange. Set this aside while you make the piece de resistance or the sauce that’s made with some melted butter, saute in the garlic till aromatics, then the salted eggs that have already been mashed ( using just the yolk to have a smoother texture, but you can also add in the whites of the egg for a more textured sauce ). Giving these a good mix while mashing the salted eggs more. Pour in the coconut milk for that subtle nutty and sweet creaminess and mix till the sauce looks lighter and very creamy and thick. Add in the chillies for spice, paprika for color and a bit more peppery type of spice, and sugar to balance the taste. Mix well until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce looks a bit more orange. Mga Sangkap :

  • 500 gramo pasta
  • 2 lata ng tuna in oil
  • 1 pakete ( 35 gramo ) cream of mushroom powder
  • ½ tasa tubig ( pang tunaw ng powder )
  • 2 kutsarang mantikilya o margarin
  • 3 butil ng bawang ( tinadtad )

Paano Lutuin :

  1. Ihanda ang sarsa; salain ang mga tuna at itabi. Sa ibang mangkok. Haluin ang cream of mushroom powder at tubig, itabi.
  2. Sa kawali, itunaw ang mantikilya at margarin at lutuin ang mga bawang at sibuyas. Haluan ng tuna, lutuin ng ilang minuto bago haluan ng kabute.
  3. Ibuhos dito ang evaporated milk, all purpose cream, at hinalong cream of mushroom. Pakuluin sa mababang init. Pagkakulo, lagyan ng asin, paminta, at keso. Haluin hanggang matunaw ang keso.
  4. Lutuin ang pasta sa tubig na may asin. Lutuin hanggang al dente. Pagluto na ito, ilugar sa sarsa at haluin ng mabuti. Dekorasyonan ng keso bago ihanda.
