Braised Beef Short Ribs

Braised Beef Short Ribs is an easy, hearty, time consuming dish but very worth it! This quick short rib recipe is made of beef short ribs seasoned with salt and pepper. These are seared before making the base sauce by sauteing the aromatics of onion, garlic, some carrots, celery, tomato paste, red wine, beef broth, and thyme. All these turns into a delightfully fall off the bone savory beef dish.

Braised Beef Short Ribs Recipe :

Ingredients

  • 1 kilo beef short ribs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion ( minced )
  • 2 cloves garlic ( minced )
  • 2 pieces carrots ( chopped )
  • 1 piece celery rib ( chopped )
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 400 ml red wine
  • 500 ml beef broth
  • 2 pieces bay leaves
  • 1 twig thyme
  • Chopped spring onion for garnishing
  • Olive oil

Steps:

  1. Prepare the beef short ribs by seasoning these with salt and pepper. Heat some oil in a pan and sear both sides of the beef ribs. Then take these out.
  2. In the same pan, saute onions until soft. Cook garlic until aromatic. Cook carrots and celery until slightly tender. Then add in tomato paste and mix well.
  3. Pour in red wine and beef broth. Place in bay leaves and thyme. Add more salt and pepper to taste. Place in seared beef, cover and cook for 1 & ½ hours.
  4. Stir often. Once beef is tender and sauce has slightly thickened. Take these off the heat and serve over mashed potatoes. And set aside.
  5. Strain the remaining sauce and vegetables. Mash and pour the sauce all over the meat. Decorate with spring onions and Enjoy !

A delectable pot roast you can make in many ways and even flavor with different kinds of seasonings. You’ll surely be glad to give this a try, not only will it impress your tastebuds, it’ll impress any guest.

These tasty beef short ribs are first made by seasoning the short beef ribs with salt and pepper. Season these well before searing in a pan with a bit of oil. Once all the slides have slightly browned, take this out. To make the base sauce; saute onions until soft, garlic until aromatic, then saute the carrots until lightly browned or slightly tender. Add in some tomato paste and mix well before pouring in the red wine and beef broth. The red wine will impart a deep and rich flavor. Mix in bay leaves and thyme for more aroma and flavor before adding more salt and pepper. Add back the seared beef, mix well and cover and simmer for at least 1 & ½ hours or until the beef turns tender and the sauce has thickened. Take the beef ribs out and place these on top of some mashed potatoes. To make the sauce, strain the vegetables and remaining sauce while mashing the vegetables. Pour the stained sauce over the beef and decorate with some spring onions. Enjoy this warm.

  • 1 kilo beef short ribs
  • Asin at paminta panlasa
  • 1 sibuyas ( hiniwa )
  • 2 butil ng bawang ( tinadtad )
  • 2 piraso karots ( hiniwa )

  1. Ihanda ang beef ribs, iseason ng asin at paminta. Uminit ng mantika at lutuin ang mga beef sa bawat gilid. Tanggalin ang mga ito pagkatapos.
  2. Sa parehong kawali, lutuin ang mga sibuyas hanggang lumambot. Lutuin ang mga bawang hanggang bumango. Lutuin ang mga karots at kinstay hanggang lumambot ng konti. Haluin dito ang tomato paste.
  3. Ibuhos dito ang red wine at beef broth. Ilagay ito ng dahon ng laurel at thyme. Dagdagan ng asin at paminta panlasa. Ibalik ang nilutong beef, takpan at lutuin ng 1 at ½ oras.
  4. Haluin paminsan-minsan. Pag lumambot na ang beef at kumapal ang sarsa. Tanggalin ito sa init at ilagay ang mga ito sa itaas ng mash potatoes. Itabi.
  5. Salain ang natirang sarsa at mga gulay. I-mash at buhusin ang sarsa sa itaas ng mga beef. Dekorasyonan ng dahon ng sibuyas at ienjoy !
