Pizza Bread Roll

This Pizza bread rolls is made by deep frying rolled bread loaf filled with ham, hotdogs, bell peppers, cheese, pizza sauce, after coating egg and breadcrumbs. Ingredients

  • Loaf breads

  • Ham

  • Hotdogs

  • Green bell peppers

  • Cheese

  • Pizza sauce (or pasta sauce)

  • 2 eggs

  • Bread crumbs

  • Oil (for frying)

Directions

  • Heat a pan (no oil) and then add the ham. Cook them until brown and crispy. Set them aside and then cut into thin strips when cooled.
  • Bring some water to a boil and then add the hotdogs. Let them cook for 5 minutes. Set them aside and then cut into thin slices when cooled.
  • Stack some slices of loaf bread and cut the sides. Flatten them one by one using a rolling pin.
  • Prepare the green bell peppers and the cheese. Cut them both into long strips.
  • Lay a piece of the flattened bread and spread some pizza sauce. Arrange the fillings carefully. Roll the bread gently. Do these steps with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Crack the eggs on a wide plate and beat them. On a separate wide plate, add the breadcrumbs. Dip the rolled bread into the egg, then coat them with the breadcrumbs. Do these steps with the rest of the rolled bread.
  • Heat a lot of oil in the pan. Add the rolled breads one by one and deep fry them until golden brown and crispy. Flip to cook the other side. Transfer them to a strainer or paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Cut the bread rolls into bite sized pieces before transferring to a serving plate. Drizzle or dip them using your favorite dipping sauce. Serve this as a snack together with some fruit shake. Yum!

PIZZA BREAD ROLLS

If I would describe three things that would surely make me happy, my answers would be cats, kdrama and pizza. I really love making homemade pizza because I can customize the toppings for a customized experience. Like, even if I put chicken on my pizza, then who cares? As long as we are happy with the toppings, then we should be proud if we want some pineapples on our pizza!

I have been keeping small ready to cook pizza doughs in the fridge just for the moments I crave for pizza. The moment I had them all, is the moment I started to look for alternatives. I’m not really a spoiled brat, but when I crave for pizza, I must have some pizza.

Pizza bread rolls had been a trend lately in Facebook and I took it as a sign. So instead of restocking my pizza dough (which is a bit expensive btw), I started using loaf breads for my pizza. I have been eating loaf bread pizza for quite a time now and it is just recent when I tried making them into rolls. I realized that when they are rolled, they are much easier to eat. I don’t need to open my mouth fully!

Having made some pizza bread rolls was really a proud moment for me. I prepared these for a weekend family meryenda and everyone enjoyed it. But I just noticed that one of the kids cannot eat a whole pizza roll so his mom slices the roll into bite sized pieces… which gave me that awesome idea to just turn them all into bite size pieces!

With bite size pieces, its now extra easier to eat. You will just be eating them like a finger food. I am not sure how many pieces I have eaten that day but my tummy is super happy! I kind of experimented with the sauce but the mayo and ketchup still wins for me.

HOW TO MAKE PIZZA BREAD ROLLS

Would you believe me that making some pizza bread rolls is definitely easier than making the actual pizza? For this recipe, no oven is needed. All you need is to roll it the fry it! If you have tried making any pizza dishes in the past, then this recipe will be familiar to you.

The defining ingredients for a pizza are the toppings. You can mix and match with the toppings with whatever you wanna add. (Let Yummy Kitchen be a safe place for those who adds pineapples on their pizzas haha!) For this recipe, I will be using ham and cheese. First, prepare all the toppings and cut them to their desired cuts. Unlike the original pizza, we recommend that the ingredients will be cut into strips, just to distribute them evenly within the pizza roll.

Instead of buying pizza dough, we will be using load breads. To make them easier and more manageable to roll, lets remove the fluffiness. Flatten the breads using a rolling pin. If you have no rolling pin, you can use a plain glass.

After flattening them all, treat each bread as a pizza dough. Add a layer of the pizza sauce (or plain tomato sauce) and then arrange the fillings. It will be much easier to roll them if the ingredients are only on one side and not distributed within the bread.

To make them extra special and more fun to eat, lets coat them with eggs and  breadcrumbs before deep frying to have that crunchy crust. When golden brown and crispy, then it’s ready!

Other people prefer to eat the pizza rolls immediately after cooking. For me, I like cutting them first into bite sized pieces and then drizzle some mayo and ketchup. If you have it in bites, you will surely won’t notice that you have been eating a lot! Yum!

Mga Sangkap:

  • Loaf breads
  • Ham
  • Hotdogs

  • 2 itlog
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil (pang prito)

Paano Lutuin:

  1. Painitin ang kawali (walang mantika) saka ilagay ang ham. Lutuin ito hanggang maging brown at crispy. Isantabi saka hiwain ng maninipis na strips kapag malamig na.
  2. Magpakulo ng tubig at ilagay ang hotdogs at lutuin ito ng 5 minuto. Isantabi at hiwain ng maninipis kapag malamig na.
  3. Ihanda ang mga loaf breads at hiwain ang gilid nito. Piratin ang mga ito isa isa gamit ang rolling pin.
  4. Ihanda ang green bell peppers at cheese. Hiwain ang mga ito ng strips.
  5. Lagyan ng pizza sauce ang loaf bread. Sunod na ilagay ang mga fillings saka ito iroll ng dahan dahan. Gawin ang mga steps na ito sa iba pang ingredients.
  6. Batihin ang mga itlog sa isang bowl. Ilagay ang breadcrumbs sa hiwalay na plato. I-dip ang pizza roll sa itlog, saka sa breadcrumbs. Gawin ito sa iba pang pizza rolls.
  7. Magpainit ng maraming mantika sa kawali. Iprito ag mga pizza rolls hanggang maging golden brown at crispy. Baliktarin para maluto ang kabilang side. Ilipat ang mga ito sa strainer o paper towel para tumulo ang sobrang mantika.
  8. Hiwain ang bread rolls ng bite sized bago ilagay sa serving plate. Lagyan ito ng mayo o samahan ng iyong favorite sawsawan. Enjoyin ito bilang meryenda sa hapon kasama ng fruit shake. Yum!
