Ingredients

  • 1 kilo whole chicken

  • Salt and pepper to season

  • 5 – 7 stalks lemongrass

  • 2 medium onions ( 1 each chopped and minced )

  • 7 cloves garlic ( crushed and minced )

  • 2 thumbs ginger ( separated and sliced )

  • 3 cups coca-cola ( Coke )

  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • Oil for seasoning

Directions

  • To prepare the chicken; season the whole chicken with salt and pepper. Pound the lemongrass stalks and tie this.
  • Place this inside the chicken with the chopped onions, 4 crushed garlic, and 1 thumb sliced ginger. Seal with a toothpick. Heat some oil in a pan, and sear the chicken till all the sides have browned. Set aside.
  • In the same pan saute the minced garlic and onions. Add some lemongrass and 1 thumb sliced ginger cook till aromatic. Add back the seared chicken, pour in coca cola, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes at medium heat.
  • After, flip the chicken to cook evenly. Cover and simmer for another 20 minutes, at medium-low heat. Baste the chicken with the sauce, letting it cook uncovered till the sauce has thickened.
  • Slice before serving !

  • 1 kilo buong manok
  •  Asin at paminta panlasa
  • 5 – 7 tangkay ng tanglad
  • 2 sibuyas ( 1 piraso hiniwa ng malalaki at isa na tinadtad )
  • 7 butil ng bawang ( dinurog at tinadtad )
  • 2 daliri ng luya ( hiwalay, at hiniwa )

Paano Lutuin :

  1. Ihanda ang manok; kuskusin ang manok ng asin at paminta. Durugin ang tanglad at taliin.
  2. Ilagay ang tanglad sa loob ng manok kasama ng mga malalaking hiwa ng sibuyas, 4 na dinurog na bawang, 1 daliring luya. Isara gamit ang toothpick. Maginit ng mantika sa kawali at lutuin ang manok hanggang mag kayumanggi ang bawat gilid nito. Itabi.
