Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/3 cup warm milk

  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • 2 teaspoons yeast

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/4 cup oil

  • 1/4 cup butter ( melted )

  • 1 cup all purpose flour *

  • 2 cups bread flour *

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • *or use 3 cups or all-all purpose flour or all bread flour

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix sugar, milk, water, and yeast. Let it rest for 5 – 10 minutes or until it gets foamy. Mix in the egg, oil, and butter.
  • Add in all purpose flour, bread flour, and salt. Mix until there are no dry spots left. You can also use a spatula to make it easier to mix/fold.
  • This will look very moist. Cover with cling wrap or a kitchen towel for 2 – 3 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  • Then take this out and ‘knead’ out some of the air. Use a roller or pull on the sides to form a square. Roll into a log.
  • Place in a bread pan ( grease the sides with oil if you like ). Pull and tug these to fit the sides. Cover with the pan’s lid or with cling wrap or a kitchen towel. Set aside for 45 – 50 minutes.
  • Once it doubles in size, cover with the lid once again or with aluminum foil. Bake at 180°C or 350°F preheated oven for 25 – 30 minutes.
  • Take it out the oven and let it rest for a bit before opening. Optional: scrape the sides to make it easier to remove. Flip and let it rest until cool enough to touch before slicing.
  • Slice and enjoy while still slightly warm with butter and jam!

You can make bread at home even without an oven! Simply make a makeshift steamer, or if you do have a big steamer you can also place the pan inside.

How to Make Tasty Bread ( Tagalog )

Mga Sangkap :

  • ¼ tasa asukal
  • ⅓ tasa maligamgam na gatas
  • ½ tasa maligamgam na tubig
  • 2 kutsarita ng pampaalsa
  • 1 malaking itlog
  • ¼ tasa mantika
  • ¼ tasa mantikilya ( tunaw )
  • 1 tasa harina *
  • 2 tasa bread flour *
  • ½ kutsarita ng asin

*o 3 tasa ng harina o bread flour

Paano Lutuin :

  1. Sa mangkok, haluin ang asukal, gatas, tubig, at pampaalsa. Itabi ng 5 – 10 minuto o hanggang bumula. Haluan ng itlog, mantika, at mantikilya.
  2. Haluan ng harina, bread flour, at asin. Haluin hanggang wala ng makitang harina. Pwede din gamitan ng spatula para mas mabilis haluin.
  3. Mag mumuka itlog basa ng konti. Takpan ng cling wrap o kitchen towel ng 2 – 3 oras o hanggang mag doble ng laki.
  4. Tanggalin ito at ‘i-knead’ ng konti para matanggalan ng hangin. Gumamit ng roller o hilain ang mga gilid para makabuo ng parisukat. Irolyo pagkatapos.
  5. Ilagay ito sa bread pan ( pwede din igrease ang mga gilid para mas mabilis itong tanggalin mamaya ). Takpan ang pan ng pang takip nito o cling wrap o kitchen towel. Itabi ng 45 – 50 minuto.
  6. Pag nadoble na ang laki, takpan ng pang takip muli o aluminum foil. Iluto sa oben ng 180°C o 350°F preheated oven ng 25 – 30 minuto.
  7. Tanggalin sa oben at palamigin ng konti bago buksan. Optional, i-scrape ang mga gilid para mas mabilis tanggalin. Pag baliktaran at palamigin muli ng konti bago hiwain.
  8. Hiwain at ienjoy habang mainit-init pa, ihanda kasama ng mantikilya at jam!
