Crispy Whole Fried Chicken

Fried chicken has been the crowd’s favorite food for all seasons, especially me. Fried chicken is my comfort food. I was not as adventurous with my food when I was a kid compared to now. Ever since we tried a new restaurant, I always get the chicken because nothing ever goes wrong with chicken. The only choices is that it is delicious or is it yummy.

Frying a chicken leg or other small portions of chicken might somehow seem that I am only cooking for myself. Preparing a whole chicken for me is associated with family. Having a whole chicken dish request from anyone from the family only means that we will be eating together for dinner. Don’t we all want to eat together with our families?

Fried chicken is everyone’s favorite. There is always that thrilling moment once the whole chicken is served since all of us wants the wings and legs part. My mom always help me call dibs on the chicken wings because she knows I really love it. What I really love about this dish is that I love eating it together with the people I love.

Crispy fried whole chicken brings a family closer together. If you wanna know how to make some crispy fried whole chicken, read and follow the steps below. Happy cooking!

How to Make Crispy Whole Fried Chicken

Making this crispy fried whole chicken is easier than you think. If you have tried frying some chicken in the past, then this recipe will be super easy for you. Almost same steps, just a bigger cut.

Every layer of flavor starts with marinating. Instead of a marinade, we will marinate our whole chicken in a dry mixture of your favorite spices. To save time and resources, a five spice powder would really be useful for this type of recipe. If you have other spices in mind, feel free to use them.

For less oil splattering and to have a layer of crispy flavorful crust, make some batter by combining egg, water and flour. Just make sure you get the right consistency. A super thick batter will make the cooking time much longer. Coat the whole chicken with the flour coatings before deep frying. You’ll be surprised how helpful these coatings in preventing the aggressive oil splash.

Frying the chicken might take a lot of time. It will be helpful if you flip the chicken from time to time to cook it evenly and prevent burning. The only horror when cooking whole chicken is when the crust is ready and the insides are not. You may use a kitchen thermometer and poke the breast part of the chicken to see if it had received the right cooking time.

Serve the crispy fried whole chicken together with some homemade gravy and a lot of rice. Yum!
