Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup ham sliced into small pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 cup mixed veggies
  • 250 ml all purpose cream
  • ½ chicken cube
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Quail eggs cooked and peeled

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat some oil. Saute ham until it browns. Set aside.
  • In the same pan, melt butter. Saute garlic and onions until aromatic. Saute in mushrooms for a minute. Add in mixed vegetables and cook for a few minutes.
  • Pour in all purpose cream and mix well. Add in chicken cube, salt and pepper to taste, and cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Add in the quail eggs and ham. Cook for a minute until the eggs are fully coated with the sauce. Enjoy !

Why is it called Sipo Egg ?

Originating from Pampanga, a province in the Philippines. There is no definitive origin of the name, thus there is no Sipo egg in Tagalog literal translation, though the Sipo meaning in Tagalog is ‘cold’. The key ingredient in most sipo recipes are the quail eggs, shrimp or ham, with a mix of vegetables, usually carrots, peas, corn, or more, depending on the household like mushrooms, potatoes, and leafy greens. Mga Sangkap :

  • 1 tasa ng ham ( hiniwa ng maliit na piraso )
  • 3 butil ng bawang ( tinadtad )
  • 1 bawang ( hiniwa ng maliliit )
  • 2 kutsara ng mantikilya
  • 1 tasa ng labute ( hiniwa )
  • 1 tasa mixed veggies
  • 250ml all purpose cream
  • ½ chicken cube
  • Asin panlasa
  • Paminta panlasa
  • Itlog ng pugo ( luto na at binalatan )

Paano Lutuin :

  1. Sa kawali, maginit ng konting mantika. Lutuin ang ham hanggang mag kayumanggi. Itabi.
  2. Sa parehong kawali, itunaw ang mantikilya. Lutuin ang bawang at sibuyas hanggang bumango. Isama dit ang kabute, lutuin ng 1 minuto. Haluan ng mixed vegetables at lutuin ng ilang minuto.
  3. Ibuhos dito ang all purpose cream at haluin ng mabuti. Ihalo dito ang chicken cube, asin, at paminta, halluin ng ilang minuto o hanggang kumapal ang sarsa.
  4. Ihalo dito ang itlog ng pugo at ham. Lutuin ng 1 minuto o hanggang matakpan ang mga itlog ng sarsa. Ienjoy !
