The shelf stable sarcines  was acquired in December 2021 by CNPF or “Century Pacific Food, Inc. ( being the recent Ligo Sardines Owner ). CNPF holds not only Ligo Sardines as one of its brands but other leading food and beverages like 555 ( link ), Argentina, Vita Coco, Century Tuna, Argentina, Angel, Birch Tree, and more. But some may link this brand to the Tung Family which owned and operated the brand for more than 6 decades to what it is now.

Ligo Sardines Ingredients

This often depends on the flavor and type of Sardine. The most popular being Ligo Sardines Premium which uses tomato sauce. The primary ingredients list is composed of sardines, tomato sauce ( a mix of water and tomato paste ), modified cornstarch, salt, sugar, onion powder, and garlic powder. In other varieties some ingredients added are coconut cream or milk, chillies, sriracha and many others.

For the package, it’s often packed with the sardines product description “Ligo Sardines easy open” can featuring a ring pull mechanism, eliminating the need for bottle screw / can opener. This feature is also only offered ( for now ) for the Sardines in Tomato sauce as this is one of their more popular varieties.
