A variety of meat sauces are competing which one is the best to use. There are the sauces which are used to flavor and coat the meat. Usually, the sweet sauces are the most favoured ones. Sugar and honey are the commonly used sweeteners to make a savoury sauce. People rarely used this secret ingredient but we are here to reveal it to you. It’s Coca-cola. You are right! It’s the soft drink you drink on a sunny day. If you haven’t been using cola in any of your dishes, then you’re missing a lot! The caramel in the cola will give your dish a unique type of sweetness that will surely linger in your mouth.

HOW TO COOK COCA-COLA PORKCHOP

Aside from just frying our pork chops, we are gonna add some magic by adding an extraordinary sauce to it. We prepare the sauce first so we can add directly to the pork chops once it’s done. Prepare the sauce by mixing the cola, brown sugar and ketchup. Yes—we are using a soft drink! Set the sauce aside. Fry the pork chops just the way you usually fry it. Just remember to rub it with salt and pepper to release its natural pork flavor. Also, poke the meat so that oil can enter the insides and cook it. Do this especially when you are using thick cuts of pork.

After frying all the pork chops, bring back everything into the pan and add the sauce that we made. Make sure to coat every meat with the sauce. Aside from the caramel flavor from the cola that sips into the pork chops, the high acidity of the cola makes it a great meat tenderizer. Not only you will have tasty meat, but you will also have tender meat! That’s two birds in one shot!

You’ll know that the sauce had sipped in when it has been reduced so much that the thick sauce now coats the meat. This dish serves great with a bowl of hot steaming rice. Serve this to your family and they will be amazed for sure!

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces pork chops

  • 1 cup coca-cola

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon pepper

  • ½ tablespoon oil

Directions

  • For the sauce, add the coca-cola, brown sugar and ketchup in a large bowl. Mix well until fully-combined and then set aside.
  • Prepare the pork chops. Season with salt and pepper. Rub and massage the meat using your hands.
  • Poke the pork chops using a fork.
  • Heat a pan under medium heat and add some oil. Fry the pork chops for 3 minutes on each side. Transfer to a strainer to drain excess oil.
  • When all the pork chops are cooked, return them in the pan and then add the sauce. Cover the pan and let it cook for 5 minutes. Flip the pork chop pieces and cook for another 5 minutes. Continue simmering until the sauce thickens and coats the pork chops.
  • Serve the coca-cola pork chops in a serving plate and serve with hot rice. Enjoy!

  1. Para gawin ang sauce, ilagay ang coke, asukal na pula at ketchup sa isang bowl. Haluin ito ng mabuti.
  2. Ihanda ang mga pork chops. Budburan ng asin at paminta at i-massage ang karne gamit ang iyong kamay.
  3. Tusukin ang mga pork chops gamit ang tinidor.
  4. Magpainit ng kawali gamit ang katamtamang apoy at maglagay ng mantika. I-prito ang mga pork chops ng 3 minuto bawat side. Ilipat ang mga naluto sa isang strainer o paper towel para tumulo ang sobrang mantika.
  5. Kapag naprito na ang lahat ng karne, ibalik ang mga ito sa kawali. Ilagay ang ginawang sauce. Takpan ang kawali at hayaan itong maluto ng 5 minuto. Baliktarin ang mga piraso ng karne at lutuin ang mga ito ng 5 pang minuto. Hayaan itong maluto hanggang lumapot ang sauce at dumikit sa pork chops.
  6. Ilipat ang mga coca-cola pork chops sa isang pinggan at i-serve kasama ang mainit na kanin. Enjoy!
