MISUA SOUP WITH MEATBALLS RECIPE
The rainy season is back again so it’s time to plan some soup and noodle recipes. We really love that warm feeling brought by these hot noodles during a cold simoy ng hangin. Every time we shiver, a hot soup will surely be the right solution for this.
There are a lot of noodles out there and the misua noodles is really one of a kind. Misua noodles are not your usual noodles. These are the hair like white noodles which easily breaks apart so we need to handle them very carefully. Once cooked, these noodles are the best for slurping. They are not curly, but they are like white hair which are wet. The noodles has a mild taste, which makes it best for soup recipes.
I have been cooking my misua noodles usually with patola that I am harvesting from the garden but I have used my patola to other dishes (hehe). To make my misua noodles level up, meatballs would really make it more appetizing. Since I have a lot of time today, I can allot plenty of time in rolling these meatballs.
The rolling of the meatballs took a longer time than cooking the actual dish. But it’s alright. At the end, this misua soup with meatballs makes every lamig in my katawan be gone.
If you would like to enjoy the cold weather with some meaty soup, try this misua soup with meatballs recipe. Read and follow the steps below. Happy cooking!
HOW TO MAKE SOME MISUA SOUP WITH MEATBALLS
Making some misua soup noodles might take some time, but the wait is super worth it. After making the meatballs, the rest of the steps will be super easy.
Let’s start with making the meatballs. Simply combine the meatball ingredients until you have a nice and colorful mixture. I used only carrots, garlic and onions for this recipe but feel free to add other veggies you like.
The next part will be time consuming but very easy. For the rolling of meatball mixture into balls, try to have some family members to help you as a bonding time too. There are also some new tools which can help you make the balls easier. For this recipe, I manually rolled them. If you are to do this, make sure that your gloves are greased, unless, the mixture will just spread in your hands.
Once the meatballs are done, simply fry them until brown and crispy.
Now, let’s prepare the misua noodles. The first part of making this after making the aromatic base is making an egg drop soup base. For this one, you are simply going to drop the beaten egg slowly while stirring, until you form hair-like eggs in the broth. The chicken broth cube is really optional but really adds flavor to the broth.
The next part is to add the meatballs and cook them in the broth, just to make sure that they are fully cooked up to the core. Lastly, add the misua noodles gently into the pot. Very gently, because they might break apart.
Once the meatballs and misua noodles are fully cooked, then it’s ready!
What I love about this dish is that it already has carbs and proteins in it. You can also add some veggies on this if you like. Make this dish much more fulfilling by enjoying it with some hot steaming rice. Yum!
