Afritada Recipe Ingredients :
- Eggs – The main component of our recipe. Nutritious ( full of protein), affordable and easy to find.
- Hotdogs – the main ‘meat’ of the recipe, you can also choose to use other cured meats like luncheon meat, maling, sausages, ground pork, beef, or chicken.
- Potatoes and Carrots – add color to the dish, as well as make it fuller, and healthier.
- Onion and Garlic – aromatics to give the dish a bit of ‘oomph’/
- Tomato sauce – base of the sauce, also acts as the thickener.
- Salt and Pepper – to taste
- Water – for simmering.
- Chicken broth cube – to give the dish a bit more umami flavor/
- Sugar – an optional ingredient if the dish tastes a bit too salty.
- Oil – for sauteing
- Bell pepper – for color and texture.
- Spring onion – for garnish

How to cook Afritadang Itlog ?
Ingredients :
- 8 pieces large eggs
- 6 pieces hotdogs ( sliced )
- 2 medium potatoes ( chopped )
- 2 medium carrots ( chopped )
- 1 medium onion ( chopped )
- 3 cloves garlic ( minced )
- ¾ cup tomato sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup water
- ½ chicken broth cube
- 1 teaspoon sugar ( optional )
- Oil for sauteing
- Bell pepper
- Spring onion for garnish ( optional )
Steps :
1. In a pot, add the eggs and fill these with enough water to cover. Boil for 8 – 10 minutes. Peel and set aside.

2. Heat some oil in a pan. Fry the hot dogs until lightly browned. Set aside. Shallow fry the potatoes and carrots until lightly browned. Set aside. In the same pan, saute bell peppers and set aside.

3. Remove the excess oil and saute onions and garlic until aromatic. Pour in tomato sauce. Add in salt and pepper to taste.

4. Mix in the water and chicken broth cube. Bring to a simmer. Taste. Mix in sugar if needed. Add back the carrots and potatoes.

5. Cover and cook until the vegetables are tender. Place in the bell peppers, hot dogs, and eggs. Mix until these are all well coated with the sauce. Garnish with spring onion.

Additional Ingredients for Afritadang Itlog Recipe
- For seasonings, if you want a nice tangy-saltiness add 2 teaspoons or more of fish sauce.
- You can also add some Umami by adding half a tablespoon or more of oyster sauce or sauce sauce. Or even some chunks of mushrooms.
- For an iron filled recipe, add in some sauteed chicken or pork liver.
- You can also mix in more fiber into your diet by tossing in some spinach, cabbage, green peas, or sweet potatoes instead of regular potatoes.

Mga Sangkap :

- 6 piraso hotdogs ( hiniwa )

- 2 karot ( hiniwa ng malalaki )
- 1 sibuyas ( tinadtad )
- 3 butil ng bawang ( tinadtad )
- ¾ tasa tomato sauce
- Asin at Paminta panlasa
- 1 tasa tubig
- ½ chicken broth cube
- 1 kutsarita ng asukal ( opsyonal )
- Kampanilyang Kampana
- Mantika panluto
- Dahon ng sibuyas pang dekorasyon ( opsyonal )
Paano Lutuin :
- Sa mangkok, ilagay ang mga itlog at tubig. Pakuluan ng 8 – 10 minuto. Balatan at itabi.
- Mag init ng mantika sa kawali. Lutuin ang mga hot dogs hanggang mag kayumanggi. Itabi. Pagkatapos, lutuin ang mga patatas at karots hanggang mag kayumanggi. Itabi. Lutuin ang mga kampanilyang paminta hanggang lumambot at itabi.
- Tanggalin ang sobrang mantika. Lutuin ang mga sibuyas at bawang hanggang bumango. Ibuhos dito ang tomato sauce at haluan ng asin at paminta.
- Ihalo ang tubig at chicken broth cube. Pakuluain. Tikman at haluan ng asukal kung kinakailangan. Ibalik dito ang mga karot at patatas.
- Takpan at lutuin hanggang lumambot. Pagkatapos, ibalik ang mga paminta, hot dogs, at itlog. Haluin ng mabuti hanggang matakpan ang mga ito ng sarsa. Dekorasyonan ng dahon ng sibuyas.
