Ingredients
  

  • 12 pieces shrimp peeled but with the tail still on
  • 1 salted egg
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoon spring onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 medium sized egg
  • 1 cup oil

Instructions
 

  • Slice the peeled shrimp pieces in half. Take the first half, but keep the tail side for later. Mix the first half with the food processor. Mix this with the salted egg and grind for 1 minute.
  • Transfer this into a clean bowl. Season with pepper and seasoning mix. Mix until well combined. Mix in spring onions.
  • In another bowl, mix cornstarch and all purpose flour. In another bowl, place in breadcrumbs. And in another, beat an egg.
  • Oil your hands, scoop the shrimp mixture. Place the shrimp tail on top. Form the paste into a ball. Coat in the flour mixture, then the egg, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Repeat until all the tails have been formed into balls. Heat oil in a pot. Once hot and slightly bubbling, add in the shrimp balls. Fry until browned. Make sure to cook these in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  • Serve and enjoy!

The best way to serve these golden Shrimp Balls is freshly cooked and hot. It’ll be their crispiest and juiciest fresh out of the pan. These are perfect as finger food for parties and gatherings, as an appetizer, or ‘pulutan’ ( bar food usually paired with drinks ). How to make Shrimp Balls

    Shrimp balls air fryer is a ‘healthier’ alternative. Place these in the air fryer lined with parchment, spray or brush with oil, you can also spray the shrimps to make sure these crisp up better. Fry at 180°C or 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes or until these turn golden. Check every 5 minutes.

    • Shrimp Balls Frozen to keep for longer ?

    These shrimp balls can be kept in the fridge for longer. Place the uncooked shrimp balls in a container lined with parchment greased with a bit of oil. Cover then freeze. This can keep in the freezer for 1 – 2 weeks. There is no need to thaw out when you’re about to fry it. 

    If already fried, place in an airtight container, this can keep in the freezer for 2 weeks and more. There’s also no need to thaw out when refrying. You can also place this in the airfryer at 180°C or 350°F for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the outer layer looks crisp again.

    3. Sa ibang mangkok, haluin dito ang cornstarch at harina. Sa iba ilagay dito ang breadcrumbs, at sa isa pa-isang 1 itlog na binati.
    4. Pahidan ng mantika ang mga kamay, iscoop ang mixture. Ipwesto ang buntot sa itaas. Ibuo ang mixture ng pabilog. Takpan ito ng flour mixture, ibabad sa itlog, pagkatapos ang breadcrumbs.
    5. Ulitin hanggang lahat ng buntot ay nagamit na. Uminit ng mantika sa kawali. Paguminit na at bumubula, ipasok ang mga hipon. Iprito hanggang mag kayumanggi. Iluto ng mag-batch para hindi ito dumikit sa isa’t isa.
