This homemade Burger Steak Recipe even rival’s Jollibee’s version. Meaty burgers made of ground beef, onion, salt, pepper, soy sauce, liquid seasoning, breadcrumbs, and an egg. Formed then cooked till both sides look slightly charred. These will then be drenched in a creamy mushroom sauce made of butter, milk, soy sauce, a beef broth cube, salt, pepper, sliced mushrooms, with some slurry to help thicken the sauce up. Everything is simmered together to help meld all the flavors before being decorated with parsley. Serve this with a side of rice or even noodles to turn into a full meal.

Ingredients

  • For the burger
  • 1 kilo ground beef

  • 1 large onion ( chopped )

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon liquid seasoning

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 large egg

  • oil

  • For the Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 cup evaporated milk

  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

  • ½ beef broth cube

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • ½ cup mushroom ( sliced )

  • Slurry ( mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water )

Directions

  • To make the burger; in a bowl mix beef, onions, salt, pepper, soy sauce, liquid seasoning, breadcrumbs, and an egg.
  • Scoop ⅓ to ½ cup of the mixture onto your hand. Form into a round patty and flatten this a bit. Place over parchment paper, cover and freeze for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a pan with a bit of oil. Place the patties in and cook one side until golden brown before flipping to the other side. Once both sides have browned, take these out.
  • For the Sauce; In the same pan, melt the butter, pour in evaporated milk, soy sauce, add a beef broth cube, salt and pepper to taste, then mix well. Cook for 2 minutes then strain into a bowl to remove excess bits.
  • In the same pan, saute mushrooms for a few minutes. Pour in the sauce, let this simmer a bit before adding the slurry. Mix until thickened or the sauce has slightly reduced.
  • Place in the burger patties, cover these with the sauce. Cook for a few minutes. Garnish with parsley. Then serve with a side of rice.
