Paksiw na Tilapia Recipe :
Ingredients
- 1 kilo tilapia ( descaled )
- 2/4 kilo pork belly ( cut to chunks )
- Ginger ( sliced )
- 1 medium onion ( sliced )
- 6 cloves garlic ( minced )
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 small eggplant ( sliced )
- 2 pieces tomatoes ( sliced )
- 6 pieces green chillies
- 2 cups water
- ⅓ cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar ( optional )
- Fish sauce to taste
- 5 red chillies
Steps:
- In a pan, saute pork belly chunks till it fully changes into a light brown color. Or till the fats start to render.
- Place in the tilapia, ginger, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, eggplant, tomatoes, green chillies, water, and vinegar. Cover and simmer for 10 – 15 minutes.
- Taste. Add in sugar if needed, then add in fish sauce to taste. Place in red chillies and let this cook for a few minutes.
- Serve over rice.

How to cook Paksiw na Tilapia with Gata? Simply pour 2 cups of the choice of milk instead of 2 cups of water. You can also do 1 cup water and 1 cup milk if you’d like.

Paano Lutuin :
- Sa kawali. Lutuin ang mga hiwang pork belly hanggang mag iba ang kulay nito. O hanggang nagrender ang mga taba.
