1 kilogram chicken wings cut in half 300 ml Coca Cola 3 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon minced ginger 3 cloves garlic minced Salt to taste Ground black pepper to taste Cooking oil for shallow frying Chopped green onions for garnish, optional Sesame seeds for garnish, optional
Clean the chicken wings and cut them in half at the joints. Pat them dry with paper towels.
Season the chicken wings with salt and ground black pepper. Toss well to coat evenly.
Heat a small amount of cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the chicken wings and cook until both sides are lightly browned.
Pour the Coca Cola into the pan. Add the soy sauce, minced ginger, and garlic.
Toss the chicken wings gently to coat them with the sauce.
Simmer over medium heat, turning the wings occasionally, until the chicken is fully cooked and most of the liquid has evaporated.
Once the sauce has reduced, increase the heat to high and cook for another 2–3 minutes, tossing the chicken frequently.
Continue cooking until the sauce becomes thick, glossy, and sticky and coats the chicken wings.
Remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate.
Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Serve hot.
Pat the chicken wings dry before seasoning to help them brown properly.
There is no need to marinate the chicken for a long time. The wings can be cooked immediately after seasoning.
Use regular Coca Cola , rather than diet or zero-sugar cola, for the best sticky glaze.
Keep the heat at medium while the chicken simmers so the sauce can reduce without burning.
Watch the pan closely once the sauce becomes thick because the sugars can burn quickly.
Turn the wings occasionally while simmering so they absorb the sauce evenly.
Add chopped green chilies or siling labuyo for a spicy version.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days .
Reheat gently in a skillet, oven, or air fryer. Add a small splash of water if the glaze becomes too thick.
