STIR FRY CABBAGE WITH PORK BELLY RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 600 grams of cabbage
- 300 grams of pork belly
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- Fish sauce to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 small carrot
- 1 small red bell peppers
- ½ cup of water
Directions:
- Wash and prepare the cabbage. Slice it in half and then remove the core. Then, chop them into chunky pieces. Wash them well and set aside.
- Prepare the pork belly and cut them into small pieces. Heat a pan (no oil) and then sear the pork belly using high heat.
- Once the meat has browned and oil has been rendered, add the garlic and onions and saute them for a few minutes.
- Add the oyster sauce and some water to help cook the meat. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the pork is tender.
- Add the carrots, and cook for a few more minutes until the carrots are soft. Season with some pepper and fish sauce to taste. Add the red bell peppers. Saute for a whole minute.
- Lastly, add the chopped cabbage. Toss and saute gently until the cabbage is half cooked. Turn the heat off.
- Transfer the stir fry cabbage with pork belly to a serving plate. Enjoy this as a side dish or as an ulam to your big bowl of hot steaming rice. Yum!

Start by preparing the cabbage. The cabbage is a round leafy vegetable and the best way to chop it is to slice it first in half, then remove the core. The core is super thick and not palatable so we simply discard it. The remaining part of the cabbage would be the leaves, which will be chopped into thin strips. What’s amazing about the cabbage is that even a small one can yield a lot of chopped strips!
Sear the pork belly slices until it naturally renders oil. Saute the aromatics and then let the meat cook first. You will be needing to add some water to make them cook faster.

Mga Sangkap:
- 600 grams ng repolyo
- 300 grams ng pork belly
- 3 butil ng bawang
- 1 sibuyas
- 1 kutsara ng oyster sauce
- patis
- Paminta
- 1 maliit na carrot
- 1 maliit na red bell peppers
- ½ tasang tubig
Paano Lutuin:
- Hugasan at ihanda ang repolyo. Hwiain ito sa gitna at alisin ang matigas na parte nito sa gitna. hiwain ang repolyo sa malalaking piraso.hugasan at isantabi.
- Ihanda ang pork belly at hiwain ito sa maliliit na piraso. Magpainit ng kawali (walang mantika) at lutuin dito ang baboy gamit ang malakas na apoy.
- Kapag nagbrown at nagmantika na ang pork belly, idagdag na ang bawang at sibuyas at gisahin ito nang ilang minuto.
- Magdagdag ng oyster sauce at kaunting tubig para mas maluto ang karne. Takpan ang kawali at hayaang maluto ang 10 – 15 minuto o hanggang lumambot na ang karne.
- Idagdag ang carrots at lutuin pa ng ilang minuto hanggang lumambot ang carrots. Timplahan gamit ang paminta at patis. Ilagay ang red bell peppers at gisahin nang isang minuto
- Huling idagdag ang mga hiniwang repolyo at bahagyang haluin hanggang mahalf cook nag repolyo.alisin na sa apoy pagkatapos.
- Yum! Ilipat ang stir fry cabbage with pork belly sa serving plate. Enjoyin bilang side dish o kaya naman isabay sa mainit na kanin. Yum!
