Pork Hamonado Recipe and Procedure

This Pork Belly Hamonado Recipe with Pineapple Juice is perfectly tender and deliciously balanced. To make this dish, first prepare the pork belly by giving this a nice dap of the kitchen towel to dry and clean. Give the skin shallow criss-cross cuts then season with salt and pepper. Make sure to rub these all over before searing the pork belly skin side first to help render some of the fats, then searing all the sides till they’ve turned golden. Take the slabs out to saute the garlic and onions to help bring out the aroma and flavor, place the slabs back in then simmer with pineapple juice which acts as a natural tenderizer and some soy sauce for color and savory taste. Simmer for a few minutes, flipping often to make sure everything is cooked evenly. Give this a taste, adding sugar if it’s too salty before pouring in some water. Cover and simmer till tender, flipping often to make sure each side has some time with the sauce. Add more water if needed to avoid the bottom of the meat from burning. Keep simmering till tender before adding in the pineapple slices or chunks. Give it a good mix, letting everything cook together before serving.

A melt in your mouth dish that’s worth an hour of simmering. Great as a party dish to surprise your guests, for fiestas, special occasions, or simply to make as a weekday pre-made main dish to enjoy and get you going for the day. A Yummy dish that you’re sure to enjoy!
