You only need to cook a big batch on the weekend to enjoy for the next week or until the week after. It’s also customizable which makes it easier to fit your diet or make it more affordable health-wise.

To make a classic savory pancit canton recipe start with cooking some squidballs or your choice of cured meats. Setting these aside to create your healthy base of vegetables; sauteing garlic and onions, then chicken bits until the chicken changes in color. But what makes this a special pancit canton guisado recipe ( or “Pancit Canton Guisado with chicken Liver” ) is the addition of the chicken liver, that not only adds iron into the body but gives it a unique creamy texture. Mix the liver until it changes in color. Adding color to the dish are the mix of carrots, green beans, bell peppers, and cabbage. Seasoning with salt and pepper. Once the vegetables feel and look tender then take these out.  Now to make the sauce; pour in water, soy sauce, more pepper, and a chicken broth cube, mixing these together until it simmers and the broth cube dissolves. Add in the canton noodles and mix these gently to let the noodles absorb the sauce. Once the sauce has dried up, pour in the oyster sauce, toss in the vegetables, and squidballs. Take these off the heat then serve as is or with some toppings.

What will make this dish more appetizing? The pancit canton toppings! These noodles are best eaten with a little drizzle of calamansi juice for that nice zest. You can still add seasonings like soy sauce or fish sauce if you like. You can also enjoy this pancit canton the Filipino way- with a side of toasted loaf bread. Yum!
