The Zebra pattern in cakes

Zebras a re fascinating animals with eye catching black and white patterned stripes that are as unique as a person’s fingerprint. Not only do they have this pattern to differentiate themselves from their horse cousins it’s actually used to camouflage themselves from predators. While seeing black and white stripes in the wild seems eye catching, their stripes conceal their bodies in the tall grass when they hide from lions since these predators can’t distinguish colors. They also serve as a distraction for those animals that focus on the stripped pattern instead of the animal giving themselves ample or at least some time to get away.

While their distinctive pattern plays an important role in surviving in the wild. Zebra patterns in the ‘human world’ are seen printed on clothes, used as wall papers, in art, and in food. As a fashion trend comes and goes, this zebra print was one of the most popular animal prints for many as stripes are very complimentary for those who want to look taller or slimmer. Animal print in clothes gives you a presence of being daring and bold. And while this zebra print looks very much eye catching, it muted enough form the black and white color that it could be merged with other textures, colors, and even more patterns. It could look dressed up or casual easily. Its then added into a cupcake or muffin mold greased with butter or oil. With the batter being dropped alternately from vanilla and chocolate, dropping each time in the middle to make them look like a dart board. After all the molds are filled and there are no batters left. Take a toothpick and from one corner of the mold dip the toothpick and pull it towards the middle.
