Cheesy Seafood Lumpia Recipe
When we say seafood, it is usually the fishes which are used in the dish. How about the other types of seafood? We only see the other types of seafood when the dish calls for a seafood platter.
I am a seafood lover and am really inlove with crabs. It’s super sad knowing that with all the effort of eating a crab, they can really only provide very small portion of the meat, since its almost purely shells.
I knew about the crab sticks way way back when we started preparing shabu-shabu at home. I love the hassle free crab meat with the crab sticks. If you haven’t heard about the crab sticks, these are orange to red short and thick sticks made to imitate crab meat. Although they are really made with the surimi fish or white fish, the taste really almost similar to the crab meat! Tho of course it’s very peculiar to be biting on a crab meat if you know how to eat of a legit crab!
Going back, we had some leftover crab sticks for the family shabu shabu. Instead of eating them plain again, why not make them into lumpia so it would be much much interesting? Almost all leftovers are instantly made into a brand new dish by making it into a lumpia.
Since the crabsticks are a bit bland, lets go todo na to with our seafood lumpia and add some shrimps in it. And of course, cheese!

How to Make Cheesy Seafood Lumpia
Cheesy seafood lumpia is just like other lumpia, but of course, made a gourmet dish using your favorite seafoods. If you had made any type of lumpia in the past, then this dish will be super easy for you.
The most important part of the lumpia is the filling. For this seafood lumpia, choose seafoods which can be easily prepared and will go best in combination. To help you think, using shrimps and crab sticks is one of the best options since they are readily available and can be prepared with just simple steps.
Prepare the filling and prepare them one by one. Of course, the shrimp is shelled and deveined. You have the option to cut the crab sticks into thin strips or into small pieces. In this recipe, I cut them into thin strips so you’ll really feel them with every bite. Chopped spring onions can give freshness and slight crunch to the lumpia. If you have other ingredient you like to add, feel free to do so but remember not to overpower the shrimp and crab sticks.
Let’s make the actual lumpia by arranging the filling into the wrapper. Do not forget to add the strip of cheese. Go gently with the wrapping and rolling to make sure the lumpia are secured.
Deep fry the cheesy seafood lumpia until golden brown and crispy. I usually eat this as a snack but I also love them paired with some hot steaming rice. Yum!
