Ingredients

  • 1 kilo bangus ( boneless )

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 cup all purpose flour ( optional )

  • 2 onions ( one sliced to circles and the other chopped )

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 1/ cup calamansi juice

  • Black pepper to taste

  • ½ tablespoon sugar

  • ¼ cup water

  • Oil for frying

Directions

  • Prepare the bangus filets; season with salt on both sides. Set aside and let this marinate for 15 minutes. Coat each piece in all purpose flour after.
  • Place in a pan with hot oil and fry till golden brown. Flip to cook evenly. Cook these by batches, repeat till all the fishes have been cooked. Set aside.
  • In another pan, heat some oil and saute the onion rings till slightly soft. Set aside. Saute the chopped onions till soft before adding soy sauce, calamansi juice, black pepper, sugar, and water.
  • Cook until the sauce has slightly reduced. Add back the fried bangus. Simmer together for half a minute before flipping. Top with onion rings. Enjoy!
