Garlic Buttered Squid

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kilo squid give these shallow slits
  • 1 bottle Sprite 290 ml
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 whole garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup Sprite
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Spring onions or parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the cleaned squids by marinating this with Sprite. Mix well and set aside for 30 minutes. Drain after.
  • In a pan, melt butter and saute garlic until aromatic. Add in the drained squid. Saute for a few seconds. Then remove from the pan. Set aside.
  • In the same pan saute in tomato paste for a minute. Pour in 1 cup Sprite, oyster sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until the sauce has reduced or slightly thickened.
  • Add back the squid. Mix until well coated with the sauce. Garnish with spring onions or parsley before serving.
