Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams shrimp
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 7 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 3 tablespoons banana ketchup
  • 300 ml Sprite or lemon-lime soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Spring onions chopped, for garnish

Notes

  • Keep the shrimp shells and heads intact for a richer seafood flavor, but clean and devein them well.
  • You can use Sprite or 7UP for the lemon-lime soda.
  • Do not overcook the shrimp. Remove them from the pan as soon as they turn orange, then return them to the sauce at the end.
  • Adjust the banana ketchup, oyster sauce, salt, and pepper according to your preferred sweetness and saltiness.
  • For a spicy version, add sliced red or green chilies to the sauce.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice to enjoy the flavorful buttery sauce.
