Cheesy Sardines Pie

Ingredients
  

  • Loaf bread
  • 2 cans sardines
  • 1 large onion minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon bell pepper chopped
  • Cheese grated and sliced
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

For the Coating

  • 2 eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Take a piece of bread and remove the sides. Flatten with a rolling pin. Slice the sides into cubes and set aside.
  • Strain the sardines. Mash the meat and mix these with onions, bell pepper, salt, pepper, chopped bread, cheese, and mayonnaise.
  • Place some of the filling over the flattened bread. Add more cheese. Fold and wrap the filling. Seal the sides with a fork. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat the eggs. Dip the bread in the egg, before coating in breadcrumbs. Repeat until all the ‘pies’ have been coated.
  • Fry until golden in a pan with some oil at medium heat. Flip if needed. Enjoy fresh out of the pan.
