HOW TO MAKE COCA COLA CHICKEN
Preparing this chicken dish is very simple. Start by marinating your chicken chunks with salt and pepper. Sear them up until brown crusts form. If you have a large batch of meat, sear the chicken by batches and just put them back in the pan when all are done. Add the rest of the ingredients. Do not remove the chicken-infused oil as it would enhance the chicken flavor. Allow the dish to cook until the sauce is reduced.
You can already turn the heat off and serve it as this point. But I really like this dish “iga” or almost dried so I cooked them up much longer that the remaining Coca Cola sauce already sticks and coats the chicken pieces. The evaporated cola has now turned into a thick and luscious glaze. And voila! Your Coca Cola chicken is done.

Coca Cola Chicken Recipe (TAGALOG)
MGA SANGKAP:
- 1 kilo ng manok (hiniwa sa serving pieces)
- 1 tasa (300mL) ng coca cola
- 3 kutsara ng toyo
- 3 butil ng bawang (hiniwa ng maliliit)
- 1 kutsara ng luya (hiniwa ng maliliit)
- asin at paminta
- spring onions (pang-garnish)
- mantika (pang-prito)
PAANO LUTUIN:
- Ilagay ang mga piraso ng manok sa isang bowl at lagyan ng asin at paminta. Hayaan itong mag-marinate ng 15 minuto.
- Magpainit ng konting mantika. Iprito ang mga manok hanggang maging light brown. Baliktarin para maluto ang kabilang side. Gawin ang steps na ito sa iba pang piraso ng manok.
- Ilagay ang coke sa kawali (wag tatanggalin ang mantika). Sunod na ilagay ang luya, bawang at toyo. Haluin ng konti. Lutuin ito gamit ang katamtamang apoy hanggang lumapot ang sauce. Pagkatapos ng 10 minuto, haluin ito para pumantay ang luto.
- Kapag iga na ang sabaw, okay na ang coca cola chicken.
- Ilipat ang mga manok sa isang serving plate at budburan ng hiniwang spring onions. Ihain kasama ng mainit na kanin. Enjoy!
